Biography
Frank Merkx is one half of the Ghent (BE) based artist duo Robbert&Frank Frank&Robbert. Frank&Robbert is a transdisciplinairy collective; together they create and animate sculptures and visual art. Their creations always have a performative layer that enables the duo to connect with (random) audiences. Doing so they reclaim public space. Their oeuvre sits on the brink between installation art and ritual. The duo collaborates since 2008. They have their own organization and theater group. Since 2020 they are represented by Fred&Ferry gallery from Antwerp.
Frank believes in creativity, the power of storytelling, connecting people and the overall magic of the cosmos.
Frank is a ceramist, sculptor, actor and skilled wood worker. He’s a theater- and performance coach. He has been guiding several masterclasses about performance, rituals and object theater in the last couple of years.
